Is “Self” a Real Concept?

IS “SELF” A REAL CONCEPT?!
Humans are pattern seeking primates who tend to take verbs and turn them into nouns in order to create a nice, neat little narrative or “story” that humans can easily turn into a generalization in order to live without analyzing each individual moment. If I were to say that you deserve HAPPINESS, that would be a specific and possibly even exact concept within your mind, but happiness is dependent, temporal, and more like a wave function than a particle or “fixed variable.”
In fact, we experience degrees of “happy” which we call “HAPPINESS” but there is no such noun or exact definition of what happiness is to you or someone else. Why does this matter? Imagine a moment in your life when you were happy; genuinely happy, not some aspect of the thought and think about what picture comes to your mind. What are you wearing in that memory? What were you doing in that memory? How did it make you feel?
SELF IS A NOMINALIZATION
Self is a nominalization just like happiness. We are not a self, we are “SELFING,” which means who we are is NEVER fixed.

If you need a few seconds to process that, take the time and really let that impact you on a personal level. You are not the same “self” moment to moment, and that is enough to give us the opportunity to embrace the power of 3rd person dissociation.
Take a second and look at your life from a new perspective. In fact, you can see this, hear this, or feel this, in your own way, that is great, but I want you to take a second and distance yourself from your first person perspective and embrace the Einstein Frame I just introduced. So, let’s take a second and think about your situation:
If Einstein were here observing this exact instance would he come to your same conclusion? What would he rationally and objectively conclude based upon his outside perspective. Let’s take a second and really investigate that reality and check to see if Einstein can possibly help us. It could turn into a productive or effective approach. What you have just done is disconnected your logic from your idea of “self.” Now, you may find yourself wanting to know more about 3rd person dissociation and you may think it can benefit you or someone you love, but if not I’d love to be your friend!
